Toilet Leak Highlands, NJ
Challenge
A wax ring from the upstairs toilet gave out resulting in the toilet leaking into the downstairs and basement floors of this 3 floors split level home. The water traveled down the walls leaving the insulation soaked with category 3 water. Additionally, the bathroom tile floor needed to be ripped up around the toilet as subflooring was completely saturated and 1 wall and insulation downstairs needed tearing down.
Solution
To repair this damage we had to rip up the tile floor around the toilet that caused the leak, as well as one wall and the insulation inside. To dry out the home and prevent a smell from lingering we left two dehumidifying fans overnight and then re-evaluated the damage the following morning. We were at the site every day after the leak until the water was completely gone.
